propan-2-ol = isopropyl, you can only attach the hydroxy in two places after all, and i consider propan-2-ol to be one fucked up name, 2-hydroxypropane is soo much better. AN is soluble in water and alcohol so using the usual 70%IPA will guaranty some losses, even dry IPA may dissolve some.

hahah I know propan-2-ol = isopropyl alcohol...that's why I put a slash in between the two names for the same chem like saying peanut butter and jam/peanut butter and jelly!
so that Americans and non Americans would understand what chem I was talking about

your nomenclature makes hardly any sense... Alcohols by definition are named from their corresponding alkanes by changing the -ane ending to -anol, methane becomes methanol etc.

like do you say ethanol or hydroxyethane?

2-hydroxypropane would indeed represent isopropyl alcohol if you want to be finicky about it,

but you're method is very long winded, like when you want to name one of the isomers of butan-2-ol. you would say
2-methyl-2-hydroxypropane
as you can see it's a bit long winded
why not save your breath and say
2-methylpropan-2-ol

like do you continue your naming scheme into other homologous series like ketones..aldehydes etc.

Of course you''ll get some losses with propan-2-ol...(and who said anything about water?)
but the losses are not worth talking about.
If you come up with an easier method to remove that cruddy yellowy (IIRC urea) coating on common NH4NO3 then I'll be all ears.
