If Jesus Wasn't Crucified

I just recently thought of what would happen if Jesus hadn't of been crucified. I mean it was just the out come of how they decided to kill/torture him. What if he'd just been decapitated, or hung? It's obvious the entire symbolism of chrstianity would completely change. I wouldn't have this cross around my neck, and churches cetainly wouldn't have them, there would be no crosses on the bibles, etc.

SOw hat do you guys thin it'd be like if jesus' demise didn't come from the crucifix. Would we have a symbol of his face being portraided everywhere, or would we just not have any type of symbol at all to represent it?

I think it would be pretty cool if instead of Christians wearing a cross on a chain with Jesus hanging on it, they wore a guillotine with a bucket underneath it and a long haired Jesus head tumbling in to it.

Why, Abrahim, why? This thread is about how Christianity might be different if Jesus were killed differently, according to Christian belief. Why must you bring Islam into every thread?

I think he should have been hung. Then instead of necklaces with a cross on them, they could just wear a piece of rope around their neck. Of course the reborn christans would wear the full hangmans noose and rope around their neck.

I think if Jesus was not crucified the symbolism would revolve around statues of his image of when he was alive.

Instead of the cross as a necklace it would protray the head image of jesus with maybe a halo.

You know I have never seen a bible with a cross on it but I am sure they do exist. I think the bibles would have none of that symbolism at all.
