okay, if the first humans were adam and eve, then theiur kids would have to participate in incest to reproduce again, and as you know (from medieval families and shit), a straight family tree results in disease and sickly children, but most of us are healthy, so i think adam and eve is bull shit. by the way, the matrix stole the idead of adam and eve for there movie (the first matrix was perfect and everyone was happy, but a disaster happened and it failed). i could be wrong.

good ? about adam and eve. i think most would say adam and eve is a metaphor but i will do my if it wasnt. The main thing is the lack of disease and shit around back then. People lived to be like 950-1300 years old. thats really the only thing i can think of. Onto the matrix. They did not copy it. The disaster wasn't the fall of man from the bible (i think this is what you mean)what happened was everything was perfect, and that are brains and minds cant comprehend being perfect, thus all the crop went nutty and fucked up. Hope that made sense.

but the next generation wouldn't have that problem because science proved cousins don't have close enough DNA.

and if their kids DNA was different enough then it wouldn't cause problems in the first place.

This is easily explained.

The whole incest thing produces a lot of diseases because it is fairly likely that brother and sister will have two recessive-recessive genes that will create the recessive trait in the child and give him/her the disease.

Adam and Eve, obviously didn't have these diseases or have the recessive genes or cancer or whatnot. If they did, we would still have evolved to be alright. It's just that we would have evolved slower, as more mutants would have to die off.

That's not a hard question to answer, and it already has been.

I've always understood Adam & Eve to be a metaphor explaining humans seperation from the rest of earth's inhabitants from the start, though.

The REAL question is:

In Genesis, Cain is doomed to walk the earth by G-d after he kills his brother Abel. G-d also says that he cannot be killed by anyone else, or that person would be cursed.

So, Cain goes on about his busines wandering around. Now, it then says that eventually Cain married.

Let's think about this. Cain married another human, when the only three humans on earth were Adam, Eve, and Cain(and later, Seth).

Where the fuck did this broad come from?

Answering these questions will only encourage similarly mindless threads.

Bullshit, my question's very worthwhile.

The OP's, however...

Adam and Eve probably had like 20 children or something. As with the incest thing, if we are to go with the biblical portrayals of humans at the beggining, nowadays we are anything but "healthy" when compared to say Adam and Eve.

The answer is:

The people who wrote Genesis (Moses?) didn't know about incest causing deformities.

Or, more accurately, the wives of Cain, Abel and Seth didn't figure largely in their interpretation of the creation of the world.

Cain was sent away from the Lord's presence and lived in a land called the "wandering," which is east of Edan.

This is where he met his wife and had a son called Enoch.
