When people say much instead of many. The word doesn't really bother me, just the grammatical error. I was at my freind's house one time and he asked his dad "How much games are there in an NHL season?" I wanted to scream :mad:

"PWN" or any variation of it. I especially hate why people actually say it with the "p" instead of just saying own.


Regular: polynomial. I had this nun who taught math freshman year in high school. The annoying way she said that word, and the amount of times she said it within a class period, almost drove me mad. I hate that word with a passion

"Gay" used as a pejorative.

"Cohort" used as a singular noun as a synonym for crony, rather than as a plural collective. (A Roman cohort was a group of soldiers, sort of like "platoon" or "company."

"Decimate" used as a synonym for "totally destroy." When the Romans decimated a village, they killed ten percent of the population, which hardly wiped it out.

"Infer" used as a synonym for "imply"--they are closer to antonyms.

Word like "girlz", "phonez" - basically anything ending in "s" which has been replaced by "z".

Rapper-speak also makes me cringe. I die a little inside every time I hear the word "blud".

I've heard this a lot too - some overly dramatic kid in my school said "I totally decimated all of them" (talking about a video game).

I like the word decimate, I would never use it but I think it sounds... interesting, I suppose.

I hate the word extreme, it's just ugly.
