I have a theory that the Earth has the same innate process's as the human body but just on a larger scale which would make sense because that's where humans are spawned from, live, and live off of, with that said you could surely expect some similarities.
Let's compare how the human body works in comparison to the earth. Your body grows skin cells which thrive, die, and regrow...this process is pretty basic and can be seen in a ton of things. With that said about the human body, the earth grows it's outer layer just like skin being trees and every other type of foliage out there as it's equivalent of skin. Due to the seasons this skin grows in the spring, thrives in the summer, starts to die in fall, dies completely in winter, then is regrown once spring comes back around. That's a very big similarity if you ask me.
Chlorophyll and blood, the molecule structure is basically the same, the difference is that the central atom in chlorophyll is magnesium where the central atom in blood is iron. It's like the earth's equivalent of blood that can be found in whatever life grows out of it just like blood is necesary to give life to every part of your body.
Anyway, I'll get to my main point. If I put a sword through my stomach my body has an innate process that will do everything it can (including kill itself) to purge that sword from my body because it realizes that it's a threat to the body and shouldn't be there.
What does the earth do when it has billions of people on it that are hurting it? I say it purges that threat that is hurting it with the same process, but natural disasters are the earth's equivalent of white blood cells.
